Spring comes and goes so quickly each year, sometimes it's hard to make the most of it. This family definitely managed to make the most of it by booking spring family photos in their own beautiful front yard!
When I drove into their yard that sunny June day, I was so excited to see all the blossoms! I knew their session would be beautiful. But what I didn't know was how perfect it would be in so many other ways.
Mom told me that she had let the four kids choose their own clothes to wear. The boys wore everyday outfits, while the youngest sister chose a pretty white dress and the oldest was in a comfy hoodie. I loved that right away they were showing their personalities. No, they weren't styled perfectly in coordinating outfits, but they were 100 per cent themselves and to me that is more important.
There wasn't much of a plan for the session. We headed out to the yard and let the kids lead the way, playing on the tree swing and laying in the hammock. Then they cuddled on a quilt and climbed trees together. Sometimes there were funny faces, and other times there were scowls. But there were also smiles and hugs and happiness.
It just made me so happy that they wanted to capture their favourite season together in spring family photos, without a lot of planning and expectations. And look how it turned out.
Perfect.
