Why moms need to get in the picture | New Brunswick Lifestyle Photographer

Moms, this one is for you.
I know how you feel.
You worry about being in photos. I know you wish you could lose a few more pounds or change your hair or maybe just not be in them at all. Maybe you worry that the photographer will catch your "bad" side or the wrong angle. You are worried that if you aren't prepared, you'll look silly. You fear unflattering photos. I get it, believe me because I have the same fears. I pick apart every photo I'm in too.As a mom myself, I think about these things when I'm shooting sessions. I understand your concerns and fears and I want you to look and feel as beautiful as you are. More importantly, I want you to be IN memories with you kids, not just behind the camera. Imagine how hard it is for me as a photographer! The last thing I want to do is get out from my safe place behind the camera.So during a session, I look for the moments and I shoot from all different angles. I find the ones that work for the shot. I move myself around to find the most flattering position. And unless I'm shooting a completely documentary session, I will make adjustments as necessary. I'll get you to sit where the light is best or position the kids in a certain way around you. It's always in my mind, just as it's always in yours.
The future you will thank you
Despite all of that, sometimes there are photos that aren't perfect. I'm sure you already have some. You are making a funny face, someone is out of focus, you were wearing your comfy clothes, you didn't have makeup on. But you still keep those photos because of what's happening in them.It's always about the moment.Some of my favourite photos are not perfectly posed, professional shots. They are the ones taken on Christmas morning in our pjs or in the backyard on a spring day. Those images are our life.I'm going to say it, and you're probably not going to agree with me. How you look doesn't matter.When you look back on these photos years from now, you won't care what you looked like. Your life will be different and there will be something in these photos that you miss. It could be a tradition that you can't do anymore or one of your child's silly quirks. Whatever it is, it matters and you care about it.These photos are you loving on your kids. They need to see you in photos with them. They will want to look at these photos in a few years and remember.I promise that you will be thankful you got in the frame.So don't worry about how you feel about the way you look, just enjoy your kids and trust me to capture your moments the way I know how. You'll appreciate it later.
