My third Luna Baby Pillow Session was with the sweetest little boy. He loved nursing in his adorable bedroom in the rocking chair, so that's where much of his session took place.

In her application to our model call, Nepisigwit's mother Miranda told us about her journey to have him.

"This is my first living baby," she said. "I got pregnant when I was 19, I ended up in the hospital at 33 weeks and my baby was in distress and in which I had an emergency c section, the baby was stillborn. Almost a year later I found out I was pregnant again, but that pregnancy ended in an early miscarriage. Fast forward nine years later, my rainbow baby is almost 10 months old."

Their heartbreaking story was one of strength. She had been through so much to get to this point. I knew she needed these photos. This time was so important for both of them and meant so much.

Miranda also told us how important it is to her to be supportive of breastfeeding mamas.

"I am a huge supporter of breastfeeding and being able to do so wherever with no judgement," she said. "I am very comfortable feeding my baby in public. I want to normalize breastfeeding! It is starting to become more prevalent in First Nation communities, but we need more work!"

It was a wonderful thing to see her bond with her baby boy. My favourite time was seeing them read together. The Luna Baby Pillow is such a great addition to their life, and helps their connection grow every day.
