Our Documented Days | Berry Picking | Fredericton Documentary Photographer

If you can't tell from the name of my business, berry picking has been a special part of my life. As a child, I picked blueberries right in my backyard. My favourite treat was blueberries in Carnation milk with sugar. I remember my dad disappearing out into the backyard and returning with a cup of berries for me.

There was also a vacant lot near my grandmother's house with raspberry bushes. We could pick them whenever we wanted, and she made the most delicious raspberry jam that went perfectly with her homemade bread.

Since moving to New Brunswick I hadn't had a chance to go berry picking, until this summer. I finally discovered a blueberry u-pick (still looking for a place to pick wild blueberries and we finally made the trip there.

Sunset U-Pick is a hidden treasure right in the heart of Northside Fredericton. Earlier in the summer they have strawberries and in late July, early August they have blueberries and raspberries.

I loved every minute I was there.

Tall trees surrounding the fields, the setting sun shining through. And the most yummy berries! We had so much fun picking - and tasting - berries and exploring too.

I was hoping to do Berry Picking Sessions, but it was a bit late in the season. So hopefully next year I will plan sooner. (If you want to get on my email list to be notified when I do, click here).
