Why you should have in-home maternity photos taken, even if you don't feel like it
It's been over a year since I did this Fredericton in-home maternity session, but it still makes me so happy.
I didn't have maternity photos taken when I pregnant with my oldest daughter, but now I wish I did. I don't have photos of the last days before we became a family of three. Before our life changed completely.
I understand why so many moms don't get maternity photos taken at all. I was one of them after all. You feel exhausted, probably not at your best and just ready to hold your baby.
But I'm here to tell you that even if you don't feel like it right now, you will wish you had these photos later.
Because you will forget how it felt to have a quiet house, to sit alone just feeling your baby kick, and to wonder what will come next.

This beautiful mama told me that she wanted photos of their home as it was before their baby boy arrived. They wanted to document what they were sure they'd be too overwhelmed to remember.
"It’s important to us that we capture this special time - for when we’re too old to remember, and for when he starts questioning his beginning," she told me in her pre-session questionnaire.
She also said she wanted to remember them as they were during that time.
"I want to remember how gentle and protective dad has been since the very beginning, the excitement in him having waited so long for this day."
