Jessica | Maternity

Earlier this summer I put out a model call for mommies to be. I had only shot a handful of maternity session before that, and it was something I loved and wanted to do more of. I know there is a bit of a baby boom happening around here these days, so I knew it wouldn't be hard to find models.Maternity sessions are so wonderful because as the photographer I get to capture this short but oh so important and special time in a mother's life, and the mom-to-be gets to feel as beautiful as she is in front of the camera. Unfortunately, sometimes getting maternity photos taken is not a high priority for families. It can be a stressful time, sometimes mom's health is not the greatest, and the budget doesn't always allow it, especially if mom and dad want to get newborn or family photos were taken after the baby arrives.So I thought this would be a great opportunity for me to give something to some wonderful people who maybe wouldn't have these photos taken otherwise. And I have to say, it worked out perfectly!My first model was Jessica. She has been a client of mine for a couple of years now and I was so thrilled when she wanted to do this. I shot her engagement session and then her amazing New Year's Eve wedding, so I feel like I've been a part of their journey. And now I get to watch as their family grows too!I know it's cliche, but Jessica was absolutely glowing the night we met for her session. She even told me that this was the most beautiful she's ever felt, and I could see why. Pregnancy looked good on her, and she looked so happy. I love how relaxed her whole session was. And I got to try out some new poses and creative shots I had been wanting to do (side note: silhouettes are my new favourite thing!)What a perfect night and a perfect session.Meet baby Floyd <3
