Week 26, Old | 2014 Project 52

"Since moving to Saskatchewan I have become fascinated with old houses. In the last two years I have gone exploring ghost towns and old farms, and every time I find a new one I get a rush. There is something so intriguing about these pieces of the past, how they stand abandoned but still such a part of the prairie landscape. Sometimes there is still furniture and other belongings left inside, as if the occupants just up and left without warning.This is my most recent find. I love how the paint has worn and left the original wood exposed, how the doors hang from their hinges and how the grass has grown up around its walls.I haven't had a chance to spend much time there yet, but I really want to take a closer look, peek in the windows and see what was left behind from another time. And of course, use this as a backdrop for photo sessions too ;)"
