Sean & Amy | Weddings | Newfoundland Wedding Photographer
When a childhood friend asks you to go all the way to Newfoundland to be a part of her wedding, it's hard to say no. I've known Amy since we were babies. Our parents are close friends, and our siblings are the same age too. So it was a no-brainer for me to photograph her special day.Even more special than taking her wedding photos, was my chance to spend some time with an old friend. It was so wonderful to see her and her whole family again. It was fun to meet up with Sean and Amy a few days before the wedding to scout locations (aka climb mountains, crawl through bushes and wade in waterfalls haha). I was so pumped to shoot in my hometown, where there are so many hidden gems that I knew would be amazing for their photos. The day of Amy and Sean's wedding was not great weather-wise. Luckily, they were prepared for it and bought umbrellas for the whole wedding party. The thing I loved the most about this couple was that they didn't let the rain dampen their spirits. It was gloomy, foggy and windy (rain, drizzle and fog of course), but the excitement, happiness and love kept everyone warm (awwwww). It was all just perfect. From the lovely ceremony under a tent in Amy's parents' backyard, to the laughs we had taking wedding party photos on "The Island", to bride and groom portraits in old hangout spots around town, to the reception full of tears, laughter and OMG delicious food. And when I asked the newlyweds to take a break from dancing to go out in the rain, in the dark for more photos, they agreed immediately and it was AMAZING. I had so much fun!Sean and Amy, you are a beautiful couple, inside and out. It was a privilege to spend the day with you and to take your photos, to reminisce and to celebrate. I wish you nothing but love and a long happy life together xox
