Fredericton Pride Festival 2018 | New Brunswick Lifestyle Photographer

I have always wanted to go to a Pride Festival. This year I got the chance to be in the Fredericton Pride Festival parade with the Girl Guides of Canada. We were there representing the 1st Oromocto Brownie unit. It wasn't a big group, but it was a passionate group promoting our organization and support the LGBTQ community.Ok, all seriousness aside, this was so much FUN! I only regret not being more prepared with rainbow gear. Luckily we were given some boas to brighten us up, and we shared bubbles to blow along the route.I have always been a big supporter of the LGBTQ community. It's close to my heart for many reasons, so to be able to join in the celebration of #loveislove was so amazing. I also wanted my daughter to see how important it is to accept everyone no matter who they are or who they love.

Fredericton Strong

There was a sense of sadness behind the celebrating and joy because just two days earlier Fredericton was hit hard by the loss of four individuals in a shooting. Two of those lives were Fredericton police officers. During the parade, we passed a blue ribbon from the start to finish to honour the two officers lost. And I could see the emotions of any police who were present.I was proud to be a part of the Fredericton Pride Festival. The photos I took show the joy and happiness, celebration, support and solidarity of the incredible people of Fredericton.
