Carleen & Ross's Engagement Session

This August, Carleen and Ross will celebrate their new marriage on top of a hill overlooking a beautiful valley near Unity, Saskatchewan. This spring, I got to check out their amazing wedding location and take some engagement photos of them there before the big day.Their session was on an unseasonable warm early April evening. It was windy, but beautiful and perfect for an adventure. Everywhere they took me was picturesque, and made my photographer heart skip a beat. From the open fields, to a stand of trees where Carleen's horses took shelter from the wind, to the side of a hill with the sun setting behind them. We did some shots in the barn, and some outside the barn with the cows. And then we lit a campfire in the trees and they made sure their dogs got in a few shots too.There wasn't much about this session that wasn't perfect. Carleen and Ross were adorable and although a bit shy in front of the camera, I could sense their love for each other pretty strongly the whole time I was with them. I know sometimes it's hard to be yourself when there's a camera pointed at you, but they ran with it and took all my suggestions and we ended up with some pretty epic shots!Their wedding is going to be just as epic, I know it. I am so excited to be a part of it and I can't wait to create some beautiful images of this beautiful couple.
