For this week’s theme, “Noise”, I had two ideas and it was hard to decide which one to use. I ended up submitting them both. I figure there’s no reason why I can’t show two representations of the same them if they are different.
The cool thing about this theme is the different ways you can interpret it. As a photographer, I knew that noise means grain in a photo. But as a mom, I know that noise can be something that surrounds me day-to-day. But noise doesn’t have to be a bad thing. And in both of these images, I think it really is great.
“I love the sounds she makes when she’s playing.
“La la la!” in a sing-song voice
“Me play party” and greeting each every little person at the door
“Ding dong!” the doorbell rings
Definitely the kind of noise I love to hear”
“I tend to avoid pushing my camera too far when it comes to low light. In this case I forced myself to, because that is part of the reason I’m doing this project and also because it was night and I was in my dark living room so I didn’t have much of a choice.
I shot this image at ISO 4000, so there’s lots of noise. I actually really love it. But the other side of the story is that my baby girl was awfully noisy that day – she filled her diaper about six times ha ha!”
