Week 35, Emote | 2015 Project 52

December 1, 2015

“I thought she was going to be shy. I thought she would be nervous about having a new teacher, new classroom, new classmates. After two years of Pre-K, I thought she would resist change.

She proved me so so wrong. She skipped all the way into the school. She was the chatterbox, telling her new teacher that she’s FIVE! She was excited and hyper and happy about it all.

Seeing that happiness on her face means everything to me.”

It’s been a few months now, and when I look back at these photos I still can’t believe how much she has grown. She still loves going to school, she is always excited to tell us about her day and her teacher says she is always a happy girl. School has been so so good for her. At home sometimes she doesn’t listen, whines and cries to get her way, but at school she is attentive and obedient. Of course I wish she’d be like that at home, but it’s good to know she is so good for her teacher and around her friends.

I am so glad I have these emotion-filled images to remind me of this time in her life. I believe it is so important to capture true emotion as it happens. M Sofia is a happy girl with stories and jokes to tell, with so much greatness ahead of her.
