“When you’re spinning around and around your vision gets blurred.
I’ve been feeling a bit like I’m spinning lately. Parts of my life feel blurry, out of focus. Life is whizzing by too fast and I can’t keep up.
When everything stops spinning I think it will all become clear again. I’m ready to see clearly.”
One day I asked Sofia to twirl so I could get a photo of her from above. I stood on the front step and held my camera over my head and just click, click, clicked. Then, on the day she was getting her long hair cut off, I got her to do it again as a way to document the day. Then it was on her first day of ballet, with her leotard on.
Twirling pictures have become sort of our “thing”. She doesn’t always get excited when I ask her to twirl for me, so on those occasions, I let it go. But when she is in the mood, it can be magic. These images represent her carefree spirit, the joy of being a girl, and we are creating something special for us.
