Kim and Colton’s wedding in June 2017 will be my last Saskatchewan wedding before my family relocates back to the east coast (Fredericton, New Brunswick to be specific). It may also be my last wedding for a while as I take my business in a different direction and start focusing mainly on family lifestyle photography.
So this one is going to be special, I know it.
These two came to me after I shot another wedding in Unity for friends of theirs, Carleen and Ross. As soon as I started chatting with Kim about her ideas and plans for their wedding I was super excited. They love the outdoors and when we started planning their engagement session I knew it would be beautiful.
I met them at their home on a sunny September day, and we drove together to so many perfect locations I was in photographer heaven! We started at a tree-lined trail that ran along a field. The leaves were yellow and falling around us as I got to know them and as they started to relax and enjoy themselves.
Next we went to an old farm, complete with barn and house and if you know me at all you know that I was like a kid in a candy store there. We played in the barn and in the grass. It was perfection. As the session went on they started to get more comfortable and forget that I was there. I tried to capture them together without awkward poses and just simply them enjoying each other.
After that we explored fields and hills and valleys and it was so beautiful and complimented them perfectly. There were open skies and laughter and even some cows that photo bombed their shots. It was pure Saskatchewan, and I am so excited to be a part of their wedding because I know it will be just as fun and beautiful. Stay tuned!
