The theme for week 6 was My Paradise. That was a toughie. For those of you who live in Saskatchewan, you know that it is far from paradise. It’s been a bitterly cold winter, so most of our time is spent indoors. I spend my days cleaning, trying to come up with ideas for crafts and games for my daughter, and watching way too much TV. One of the definitions of the word paradise is: “a place of extreme beauty, delight, or happiness.” So I went with that. I turned my thoughts away from the kind of paradise we all dream about, with warm temperatures, sandy beaches and drinks with little umbrellas in them. And I thought about what kind of place gives me extreme delight or happiness.
And here it is.
“I’m a mom on mat leave, living in Saskatchewan in the winter so some days paradise feels very far away. But then there are days like this when I get to enjoy our warm, cozy home and play with my girls. Paradise is where I am happy and content, so hanging out on the bed watching as Sofia tries to make Grace laugh is that place.”
