Sometimes after a session, I am so excited to look at the photos that I don’t even wait until I upload them to my computer. This was one of those sessions. Everything about it was perfect, from the beautiful summer evening light to the giggles of the kids playing together in the tall grass to the sweet moments I caught between the whole family.
We met up at the Rose Trail first, and took a few shots there. But we were most excited to go out to my favourite old abandoned house. I know I’ve shot there a lot, but I just can’t beat that location. The house itself, the trees all around giving us much needed shade, the valley and the awesome old cars that I recently discovered. It is so versatile and pretty, and makes every session look different.
The mosquitoes were terrible that night as the sun went down, but despite the itching and scratching, you can’t tell in the photos. We had so much fun exploring and trying different spots. And how adorable are those kids?! They made my job easy – and part of the reason it doesn’t feel like work – because they just played and couldn’t have been bothered with me and my camera.
I hope you enjoy their smiling faces, the pops of red and all the wonderful connections in these images as much as I do!
