I did so many amazing sessions this fall, and this was one of them. I adore this family. I did photos for them last year at the Oromocto Wetlands, so it was extra fun to see the girls a bit more grown up. This time around we met at one of my own family’s favourite places, the Currie House trail in Fredericton Junction.

Hidden treasures

This place is so cool. I’ve never been there when the museum has been open, but we always enjoy the trail. It’s short enough that the kids can walk it, and it leads right to the river with a view of the train bridge. If the water is low, you can even walk out into the middle of the river!

But what the kids love the most is the neat sculptures all along the trail. Each one has a story, from the Headless Horseman to the Woodpecker hotel. It’s so much fun to search the woods for hidden ones too.

Carmen and Marcy always start off shy with me, but I knew that if I showed them the sculptures and the bridge they would love it. They found a beaver and a turtle by the pond, the giant hand and a neat table made from stone.

We spent the morning walking the trail, hanging out by the river and exploring. It was perfect.

I always have fun when I hang out with these guys and I’m happy to be able to call them friends. It makes me even happier to be able to create these memories with them!
