Since moving to Oromocto, I’ve become close friends with our neighbours. Our kids get along and we hang out lots. So I pretty much told Jess that I would be gifting her photos for her new baby when he arrived. A long stay in the hospital and sickness for me delayed it a bit, but when I finally got to do Daxton’s newborn session I was so happy!
We did the session at their home on a weekday and it was so relaxed. We used an adorable very hungry caterpillar prop for the first few shots and Dax’s big brother Emmett had to come investigate. He loves his baby brother so much!
I don’t do studio newborn sessions because as a lifestyle photographer my goal is to document moments, not just create beautiful images. I love seeing babies as themselves, laying on a bed or in their mama’s arms. It’s those little moments that parents want to remember. There were so many sweet moments during Dax’s session. When Emmett came up to hug him, when he smiled up at his mom and when he started to drift off to sleep in her arms.
As I’m writing this, Dax is now four months old and he is already so different! You can see their Christmas family photo at the end of this post (Emmett may have tried to steal the show), and a shot of Daz at four months old on my Facebook page.
During February 2019 I have partnered with Portia Marsh, RMT and Personal Trainer from Sculpt Health and Wellness Oromocto, to offer our clients an amazing special! If you book both a Fresh 48 or Newborn In-home session with me and an infant massage package with her, you can save big. Contact me for more information.
